- Why include AGA emulation/compatibility in future chipsets if the
- computer will not have a High Density/Double Density drive to use the AGA
- software supplied on Double Density disks? Is AT thinking the only
- people that would use this is current Amiga owners who will bring their
- floppy drives with them when upgrading? I would assume support for
- floppies will still be in the next chipset and the connectors will be
- compatible along with possible external floppy port being DF0:
-
- There are even rumours of the A1200+ being floppyless, again, is AT
- alienating all software companies that have and are shipping current
- programs on disks allowing the new machine to readily use CD32 compatible
- and or Amiga CD-ROM games (should you be able to find any) and not the
- software available on disk? Are they expecting current Amiga owners to
- bring their current external floppy drives with them and for the newer
- users to buy standard floppy drives if they should so desire? I guess
- this wouldn't be so bad as long as they retain compatibility but to the
- newer users, I doubt many would go out and buy a floppy drive just to use
- the floppy Amiga software thus hurting the current sales/production of
- those software. Unless of course the software companies will be smart
- and quickly port their software to the CD format.
